-Ulysses  Garcia Music Course Creator

My name is Ulysses, and I am 26 years old, and I currently live in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. I have an older brother, whom I have advocated for almost four years because of his disabilities. I am a writer, blogger, and avid musician, the last of which I have almost twenty years of self-teaching experience.

Ever since I was six years old, I have always wanted someone to teach me how to play or sing, but my family has always been poor and couldnt’ afford music lessons. One of my vision teachers, who had heard about my talents, offered me a gift of weekly flute lessons in fifth grade.
Although I was born with perfect hearing, I began to experience hearing loss at age seven, which also made it difficult for me to learn new information. Despite these challenges, I have found creative ways for me to learn new material, and I haven’t lost my ability to have perfect pitch. I am currently in a community choir, and I plan on auditioning for an a cappella group when this pandemic is over.
When I first heard about Commtech USA, I immediately knew I had an opportunity for me to hare my knowledge of Braille music, for I am extremely passionate about making music accessible for all, and during these unprecedented times, we need music more than ever so that we don’t feel isolated from the rest of the world.

I came up with the idea to put together a six-module course with some quizzes to teach the basic fundamentals of music theory that will help the student be more familiar with music notation in general, and therefore allow them to apply those concepts to reading Braille music. I’m very honoured to be here with y’all and answer any questions you might have about my course.

Alyssa Henson Assistive Technology Trainer and Course Creator

Alyssa Henson is a trainer and course creator at Commtech USA. She is an avid technology lover with a strong passion for teaching others. She has been using a variety of assistive technologies since 2000 and began using Apple’s iOS operating system in 2011. Since then she has used several iPhones and apple watches. This has inspired her to create courses to help others learn about these devices and their powerful capabilities. She created a course to get people started with the Apple Watch and also entered uncharted territory by creating a course specifically about using Braille Displays with the iOS operating system as she saw the need for such a course. Her passion for her courses and teaching others has made her a valuable employee of Commtech USA.

Jack Falejczyk  Android and Web Admin Course Creator

Jack Falejczyk has been a web designer for a little over a year. He
currently has a course on the basics of starting a website, from
choosing a provider to pushing that glorious launch switch to get that
idea off the ground. Beyond that, Jack is the brains behind the newly
launched Accessidroid, designing nearly all of the site for us as well
as handling content submissions. Jack has been a seasoned Android user
for nearly a decade, holding a wealth of knowledge about the platform.
He has contributed much of his knowledge and experience with Android
towards passionately developing the information hub for Android
accessibility that has been missing from the Android world for far too
long. He is the co-creator of our up and coming Android course,
